The gym chain has agreed a new lease for a 15,000 sq ft unit close to the asking rent of £95,000 per annum. Specialist leisure agency, C J White Associates, advised Alliance on the deal. Located on Cleveleys promenade, Jubilee Leisure Park spans four acres and was redeveloped by Alliance in 2006. It is also home to tenants including Vue Cinema and Pizza Hut. Jonathan Mather from Alliance said: “We’re pleased to welcome JD Gyms, a thriving business with exciting new facilities, which will further enhance the leisure park offering. This is a prime site on Cleveleys seafront, so is an ideal location for what will be the company’s first club on the Fylde Coast.” Alun Peacock, Managing Director at JD Gyms, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing a low-cost gym with a difference to Thornton-Cleveleys. We’ll be offering exceptional fitness facilities, an unrivalled class timetable, luxury surroundings and saunas in a convenient location on a highly affordable basis. There is huge demand for a gym of this calibre in this area and we cannot wait to open the doors at Jubilee Leisure Park in early summer.“ The company, part of the JD Sports Fashion, has already opened 24 gyms in cities across the country – including Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds and Liverpool.
